2026:
Fear or Excitement?
Macclesfield Wheelers presents... a simple question - one usually reserved for the hardened minds of the fastest, most experienced hill climbers. As you roll to the start line this summer, and look up towards the top of the mountain before you, adrenaline will rush through your body. In that breathless silence before the pedal drops, take a moment to think about how you might label that feeling: is it fear? Or is it excitement?
Your gut reaction is the truth. This is your hidden super power. Some riders need a dark, negative energy to see the hill as a threat in order to really be pushed to the limit. Others summon their greatest power only when disbelief at the dizzying thrill of their own speed forces a subtle smile. Which one are you? Join us for our hillclimb series in 2026 and find out.
Our regular racers recently took to their favourite climbs so we could photograph them during full flight. Each promotional portrait shows them locked in their chosen state. Yet, as you look upon their faces, you may not be able to tell them apart. For fear and excitement are two sides of the same coin and the line between them is perilously thin.
